Crab Cakes

 

 

Ingredients:

 

  • 1 pound of fresh crab meat 
  • 1 egg 
  • 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise 
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground ustard 
  • 1 dash of Worcestershire sauce 
  • salt and pepper to taste 
  • 4 ounces of buttery round and crushed crackers 
  • 2 cups of oil for frying or just as needed 

  

Preparation:

 

  1. Gather the crab meat, egg, mayonnaise, mustard powder, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper to taste. And then in a mixing bowl that is large enough, combine all these ingredients until crab meat is evenly coated.  
  2. Heat 1/4 inch of vegetable oil to a high heat in a large skillet.  
  3. Next, combine large spoonfuls on the crab mixture and the crushed crackers. Form hem into balls.  
  4. Place the balls onto the heated vegetable oil.   
  5. Slowly and carefully flatten the balls using a spatula. That now becomes the crab cakes. It should be around a half inch thick.   
  6. Continue to fry them until both sides are evenly browned.  

This recipe is ideal for dinner parties. It’s easy to make and very tasty.
